With that in mind, Preservation House, expanded after Katrina with funding through the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Mississippi Heritage Trust, is asking for Coastwide nominations for Preservation Heroes. Nominations are appropriate Friday.
Those who consider architecture - be it a 1920 cottage, an antebellum house or a spherical church - as an important clew to Coast identity also believe those who take most remote measures to save hurricane-ravaged buildings are heroes in their have right.
