Four Indianapolis teenagers helping with hurricane restoration at Resurrection High on Monday said the work isn't hard, yet there is a lot to do.

Brian Rochford, Melissa Hollowell, Carrie Syberg, and Tracy Horan exhausted about seven hours removing mold stripping paint from walls, sweeping and mopping floors in the monastery of the school.

They wanted to approach because their school, Ron Calli Catholic High, is service-oriented, and the work is something they are used to doing. Coming to southward Mississippi after Katrina is a unique opportunity to help nation personally.

"This is of the like kind a big event," said Rochford, who said the volunteering is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The four are among 110 Catholic learners from 18 high schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis spending their spring break in southerly Mississippi. Seminarian John Hollowell said his idea was to allow the pupils to see how ...
