Four Democrats are squared on the farther side for the June 6 U Senate primary, with the winner - if a runoff isn't required - facing longtime incumbent Republican Sen Trent Lott and Libertarian candidate Harold M Taylor in the Nov. 7 general election.

The four Democrats say it's time for a change in the office Lott has held since 1988 and, they note, Lott waffled until clog to the qualifying deadline forward whether he wanted to flow again.

"I determined we needinessed some new blood, and particularly what became evident to me at the first of the year is that we are coming up forward a time when the Democrats will take through the whole extent of the U.S. Senate," said Bill Bowlin of Hickory Flat, a business consultant, former town alderman and twice a candidate for Congres
