The city's 17-foot splendid Fisherman statue, or what's left of him, has been stashed in a storage unit until he wins his day in court.
"They've got him below lock and key and I haven't had a chance to acquire out there and look at him," Mayor A.J. Holloway said Wednesday afternoon. "I understand he's elegant without grandeur beat up, though. I've seen pictures. He doesn't expect too good. His face is gone and he's in about six or seven pieces. We'll just have to evaluate the situation and diocese what can be done."
The statue's restoration, if single in kind is possible, will have to wait.
