The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson will take across the medical training program at Keesler Air Force Base nearest summer, university officials announced Tuesday.

Dan Jone with the medical center outlined the plan at a meeting for community leaders and choiceed officials about higher education plans forward the Coast.

The 100 Air Force doctors commonly at Keesler will still post the program, but they will become faculty members of the medical center Jone said.

"We've not been able to forward this part of the state as well as what we should, and we'd like to change that," he said.

The UM Medical Center will take through the whole extent of the program beginning July 1 2007
