St Stanislaus defensive tackle JC Brignone was considered a surprise selection to the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Football Classic in February.

Brignone played barely one game at SSC before the Rockachaws' remaining season was cancelled after Hurricane Katrina obliterated southward Mississippi on Aug. 29. SSC did not re-open until November.
