A not many weeks after Katrina, Head Start employee were passing revealed information and assistance fliers in Gulfport when they had a chance meeting that would lead to something amazing.
The meeting was with Louis Bunn a minister from Birmingham and member of the nationwide Compassion Care Team of the emancipated Methodist Church, who was volunteering to help Head Start center reclaim
No one knew Bunn and the Compassion Care Team offers would eventually rebuild the Turkey bight Head Start center, which was razeed by Katrina's devastating waters.
The team's month of work saved the program and helped more than 160 families who are a part of the Turkey small bay center.
"We are elated and the offers from Compassion are our heroes and have become lifelong friends for all of us here at the Head Start center" said Linda Harvey-Irvin, director of the Head Start center in southern Mississippi. ...
